• Satoshists believe in enhancing the life of the community they serve.
• Satoshists believe in ‘Satoshi Nakamoto team’ cypherpunks ideals 
• Satoshists believe in ‘Banking the Unbanked’
• Satoshists  believe in some level of decentralization of the currency markets
• Satoshists believe in a ‘level-playing field’ in overall global exchanges
• Satoshists  believe in ‘Win-Win’ partnership with anyone sharing their ideals

1. #ADMP1: Hello, could you please introduce yourself and your different tech projects, please?  

#CKC: I am Cathrine (Kim) Chivhima the President & CEO of  ZipCoin LLC – ICO & Exchange;  and ZipCoin Remit LTD– our  remittance blockchain technology startup.

 

ZipCoin is a blockchain based decentralized remittance and payment solution which will enhance businesses and individuals in the $104B-worth remit industry

I have been involved in 2 other tech projects prior to ZIPCOIN providing leadership, strategy, guidance and community engagement for mass adoption of blockchain technology. 

Besides, I also own  Morgate Consulting Solutions Inc. (“MCS”), premiere boutique in Calgary, Alberta that provide business and consulting services in large Oil and Gas, private and public companies across North America in areas of strategic planning, business analysis, process improvement, organizational change management, project and product management areas.

I also hold a Bachelor of Computer Science, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

#2. How does EOS work ??

#ADMP2: I have to be ‘honest’ with you and let you know that we’ve had a lot of complaints within our #ADMP Facebook group, regarding the last two of our previous post.

Haters, Trolls and overall ‘critics’ throughout the internets, have been throwing shades at your project!!

Followers, fans and ADMPers alike, were wary of ‘new cryptos’ (Cryptocurrencies) flooding once again, the market, with ‘cheap’ or ‘non-existent’ technology:

They want to make sure that you are actually developing ‘genuine’ tech and not another dodgy ‘Shitcoin’ (Pardon my ‘French’) as we’ve had so many, within the ‘Crypto-space’ –

The floor is now yours: How will #EOS work, then??

 

– KILLING ETHEREUM SOFTLY ? 

#CKC: EOS (like many other smart contract blockchains) is often referred to as the “Ethereum Killer”.

What this means is that it can do everything that Ethereum can, but so much better! So, I thought it would be a good idea to compare the two… 

Firstly, as we have already established, both Ethereum and EOS are capable of hosting dApps, which are supported by smart contracts.

However, the key difference is the amount that each network can process at any given time.

This is called “Scalability” which is one of the most important things to consider when analyzing the potential of a blockchain.

 

 

ZIPCOIN use EOS Proof-of-Stake and Delegated-Proof-of-Stake, which is super scalable. Basically, this creates a more efficient system, allowing cheap, fast and environmentally-friendly transactions.

In fact, each transaction only takes 3 seconds to process!

The company behind the EOS software is called Block.One, who are also involved in lots of different blockchain and business projects.

#3. DPOS ??

#ADMP3: Yeah, the ‘internet is still undefeated!’ –> The greatest digital highway of thought and action, the internet, still has to face defeat and its own ‘kryptonite’.  

Meanwhile, another layer of it, is being built:

One layer ‘On top of the HTTP internet‘ that would simply allow better interactions with the ‘internet-of-values‘.

Values that would hopefully one day, start with protecting our natural environment. 

• WHY? –>  Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and ‘Classic Ethereum’ use a clever system of ‘Proof of work consensus‘ between the different computers and servers within its network.
•  
• WHY? 

In order to verify transactions between peers  and establish ‘trustless consensus’ between the different component of their network. 

Unfortunately, this process would lead, after calculation to 1 ‘Danemark’ worth of energy-supplies, required  for the Bitcoin or Ethereum networks  to fully verify all transactions through that process by 2020 !!  

 

1 DANEMARK ?: Is the entire energy needs or power supplies, in the Kingdom of Danemark, for a year. 

 

• CAREFUL!! –> The claim of 1 Danemark worth of energy needs per year by 2020, could be ‘overblown’ and exagerated: Especially if you factor in your calculation, the GROWING computer processing power increase year-on-year, coming from China, which should result in a drop in energy needs as we go deeper into the 21st century!  !!  (The ‘Space‘: Or the ‘Crypto-community is mostly divided on the issue) 

• SATOSHISTS, will oppose to that claim, the 1 SANTIAGO  which represents the energy needs for one year , in Santiago de Chile, which is entirely powered via solar energy (Renewable energy THERE!)
• – A model for any country (Or Continent, like Africa?) with high exposure to the SUN‘s Light of course! 

 

Satoshists will also claim that no-one ever calculated the entire energy needs of the current banking system which processes 90% of its transaction via computers globally and requires high energy to light buildings,  guard and electrify physical vaults, and handle hard cash money transfers on cars and planes;

Add to that, the crippling deforestation to create the notes, and the several stock-market crashes from 1929 to 2008, etc, etc…with real consequences and nuisances on the environnement, employment, etc, etc…that was NEVER CALCULATED !! :((

 

#ADMP understood the problem; It is a problem faced by many successful startups up and down the #AfroTecH : It is called ‘SCALABILITY !…..STUPID’ !! 

. WHAT?? 

SCALABILITY !! ==> ALL tech startups (Like Bitcoin, or Ethereum,…) victims of their own success face the same problem, once they achieve their goals ahead of time:

You have to ditch the ‘old system and make way for a new one, more robust and ready to handle the new workload in big numbers, from Day 1. 

Your system will have to demonstrate the ability to handle growing number of customers over time, or will have to be replaced !! 

Nevertheless, it was a situation hard to sustain in the long run.  With ‘Delegated proof of stake consensus’, the ‘proof of work’ becomes a less energy-consuming, ‘proof of stake’ :

It is called scalability,…STUPID !! (#ADMP)

 

#4. VISIONARIES?? 

With EOS, to verifiy transactions between peers, ‘proof of stake consensus’ is the choice of  the EOS network, instead of ‘energy-consuming‘, ‘Proof-of-work’ for the Bitcoin or current Ethereum networks. 

–> Practically, it means that, whoever owns a EOS key, can now become a validator :

           #ADMP4 Visionaries are not always understood by their fellow contemporaries, how do you cope with critics?

#CKC: It is a challenge but I understand that Visionary’s passion is our “squirrel syndrome“; always wait for the next squirrel (Dataset) to come along. I do everything passionately. If something is worth my attention, it’s worth my entire time:

#CKC: I also possess the ability to discover how to enhance each other’s synergy and achieve optimal performance is critical for me to cope with critics.
